Penyengat Island or Island Penyengat Inderasakti, is a small island that is approximately 6 km from the town of TanjungPinang, Kepulauan Riau province government center. This island measures approximately 2500 meters x 750 meters, and is approximately 35 km from the island of Batam. This island can be addressed by using a boat or better known bot pompong. By using bot pompong, requiring travel time approximately 15 minutes.

Masjid Raya Sultan Riau

The mosque was built in 1832 during the reign of Yang Dipertuan Muda VII Raja Abdul Rahman, the construction of the mosque was carried out by all the Penyengat community work together at the time.
The most interesting aspect in the construction of this mosque was the used of a mixture of egg white cement for the wall. The mosque is a unique building with a length of 19.8 meters and a width of 18 meters, where prayer tendency is supported by four poles large, dome-shaped roof and tower pieces by 13 by 4 a, all totaling 17 in accordance with the cycles of day and night pray.


Tomb Complex of Engku Puteri Raja Hamidah (Kompleks Makam Engku Puteri Raja Hamidah)

Inside the tomb complex that has a composite roof structure with beautiful ornaments are some princess royal tombs of Riau. One of them are the tomb of Princess Enku. Engku Puteri who has a born name Raja Hamidah is the daughter of Raja Haji Yang Dipertuan Muda Riau IV.

Tomb Complex of Raja Jakfar (Kompleks Makam Raja Jakfar)

King Jakfar tomb complex is the best tomb complex among the other tombs. Walls lined with pillars and domes as well small pond where ablution for prayers. The king is the son of Raja Haji Jakfar Fisabilillah, who called as Raja Haji Yang Dipertuan Muda Riau VI.

Tengku Bilik Complex (Kompleks Tengku Bilik)

This magnificent building illustrates the heyday Riau royal linga in the range of 1844. The old building that has a modern European architecture is located right next to the tomb of King Jakfar complex.

Castle of King Ali (Istana Raja Ali)

Palace of Raja Ali is also known as the Palace Office, because the function of this building as a home office as well as Raja Ali Yang Dipertuan Muda Riau VIII. The palace complex is very large, its size is about no feet, surrounded by a thick wall section complete with gate behind it. The grandeur of this palace we can still see today.

Defense Fortress “Bukit Kursi” (Benteng Pertahanan Bukit Kursi)

Built during the reign of Yang Dipertuan Muda Raja Haji Fisabilillah, which at that time made the island Penyengat as a powerful bulwark in the war of Riau. In this fort we can still find trenches and cannons.

Perigi Putri / Perigi Kunci

Uniquely shaped tiny building roofed dome half slinde a bathhouse for women, especially for the princess of royal nobility Riau-Linga.

Tomb of King Ali Haji (Makam Raja Ali Haji)

Tomb of Raja Ali Haji was in the same complex with the tomb of Raja Engku Putri Hamidah. Raja Ali Haji very popular with his Gurindam 12, which contains instructions on how to run a life that aims to establish good moral values and uphold the teachings of Islam.
